UNIDO Tunisia – PAMPAT II Program

We supported 5 Tunisian SMEs operating in date, tomato, pomegranate, and prickly pear derivatives for their participation at FIE 2023 in Frankfurt. The goal was to boost visibility and create direct trade opportunities with international buyers. A full B2B matchmaking system was implemented, supported by customized commercial content.

The Problem

Tunisian producers of agro-ingredient derivatives — such as date syrups, powders, and sun-dried tomatoes — often face challenges accessing high-value EU markets. These companies lacked exposure, tailored communication tools, and direct access to buyers looking for healthy, traceable ingredients. Despite high product potential, many had little experience navigating large trade fairs or building export relationships in Germany.

The Solution

The Challenge

  • Creating export traction for niche-value ingredients in a highly competitive B2B fair.

  • Structuring buyer outreach in Germany and surrounding markets despite limited buyer visibility prior to the show.

  • Developing uniform yet tailored commercial documentation across 5 very different companies.

  • Ensuring meetings were not only confirmed but translated into meaningful engagement during the fair.

We Made

  • Designed and produced a professional booklet highlighting each company and its export offer.

  • Conducted a strategic pre-fair buyer prospecting campaign using our own network and fair databases.

  • Organized 15+ confirmed B2B meetings between Tunisian exhibitors and selected buyers.

  • Delivered on-site coaching and coordination during the event to support and optimize engagement.

  • Ensured each company had a customized meeting agenda including outbound visits to buyer stands.
