The project
The From Tunisian Lands 2023 program, designed and executed by Oui Export by Admedera, has officially come to a close—marking the successful conclusion of a pioneering export development initiative for Tunisian SMEs in the agri-food and natural cosmetics sectors.
Unlike standard consultancy assignments, From Tunisian Lands was a fully integrated program originally conceptualized by Oui Export and formally adopted by UNIDO. The initiative was co-structured with the Tunisia JOBS program (USAID), under a strategic partnership agreement that enabled 12 months of intensive and targeted support.
A Strategic Response to Export Readiness Gaps
The program was created in response to a clear challenge: despite Tunisia’s rich portfolio of natural ingredients—like prickly pear oil, sun-dried tomatoes, or pomegranate extract—many SMEs remained structurally unprepared for international trade. The lack of export departments, regulatory awareness, and buyer engagement tools made it difficult for these companies to seize market opportunities, particularly in Europe, North America, and the Gulf.
Oui Export responded by designing a tailored solution focused on capacity building, regulatory compliance, commercial readiness, and direct buyer connection.
What We Achieved
Over the course of the program, the From Tunisian Lands 2023 team delivered tangible and lasting value through a series of structured, high-impact actions:
-
33 Tunisian SMEs supported across four key value chains: dried tomatoes, dates, prickly pear, and pomegranate
-
23 tailored export action plans delivered, based on company-specific diagnostics and SWOTs
-
3 training programs conducted on international trade, regulatory frameworks, and market entry strategies
-
4,500+ verified buyer contacts compiled and segmented into 21 international buyer profiles
-
Launch of the bilingual (French/English) virtual platform, complete with an agenda system and matchmaking tools
-
150+ confirmed online B2B meetings during the program’s flagship virtual matchmaking event
-
More than 80 international buyers participated from over 20 countries, ranging from Europe to the Middle East
A Collaborative and Measurable Success
The program was made possible thanks to the effective coordination of multiple institutional stakeholders—including UNIDO, CEPEX, GIFRUIT, GICA, and the Tunisia JOBS initiative. Each partner played a role in ensuring the program’s reach, visibility, and success.
The final B2B matchmaking event—held virtually—was a particular highlight, not only for the strong international turnout but for the quality of engagement between buyers and Tunisian exporters. All companies received follow-up support, technical assistance, and live translation services to ensure seamless communication and actionable outcomes.
